Travel Advance is the market leader in Central Eastern Europe for destination marketing.  It offers a truly regional approach with dedicated offices in Poland and Czechia, and staff members based in Hungary, Slovakia and Romania. Founded in 2008 it started with a focus on marketing luxury hotels, MICE providers and tourism event management. From 2013 it developed into a complex provider for destinations interested in stimulating visitations from CEE.

The CEE Outbound Travel Market

Before Covid CEE (Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania) had been Europe’s fastest growing region, with annual growth in GDP around 3-4% per annum for the period 2014-19. Foreign travel has been phenomenal in line with increase in disposable income. Poland especially, the largest country with 38 million, entered the Top 5 source country list for many European and Middle Eastern destinations.

Since the pandemic, CEE citizens have remained resilient travellers to destinations remaining open for business, and experts predict the economies of these countries will be less damaged by the economic fallout than elsewhere.

    Paddington Tucker

    Paddington Tucker is founder and managing director of Travel Advance. He studied Eastern European languages, culture and history at the universities of Glasgow and London before setting up a tourism marketing agency in London in 2002. Sensing opportunity he relocated to Prague in 2008, where his business grew in tandem with the emerging economies of Central Eastern Europe.

    Paddington has promoted destinations in a variety of cultural settings giving him a genuinely global perspective. He presides over a team spread out over five countries, which requires excellent inter-cultural skills. He is a good leader of people and a strong communicator of market trends and insights.
