Technology has transformed destination marketing in many ways, one of the biggest being websites. To be successful in the tourism industry, having an impressive website that is visually appealing, user-friendly, fully optimized and much more is imperative. In hopes of gaining insights from tourism marketing leaders, our founding agency member, MMGY Global, conducted their inaugural Destination Marketing Technology Survey. Sending the survey to nearly 70 destination marketers, the goal was to acquire information regarding technology usage and adoption and assess their perspective of how technology will play a part in destination marketing in the years to come. The survey uncovered answers to questions like: what’re intended website investments, what´re the primary website improvements needed and what’s the primary focus of destination websites?
